If the home is vacant and has a lock box or access code you may provide that to us. We will send you a report as soon as the inspection is completed. If the home is tenant occupied and you do not plan to attend we will ask for the tenants contact information so that we may coordinate.
An unregistered property is eligible for a $1000 fine in addition to other penalties. Per Baltimore City Law, it is illegal to charge a tenant rent if they are living in an unlicensed unit. This means you cannot peruse unpaid rent or worse, you may be ordered to refund any rent paid during the period which your property was occupied and unlicensed.
All dwellings with 9 units or less must have all units inspected. Dwellings with 10 or more units have special rules. If your building contains 10 or more units, please contact us for more information.
